“Creating things has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t till the age of twelve that I decided to pursue the art of painting and drawing. I spent much time studying other artists, techniques and art principles. These things have helped lead me to where I am today. But the art world is broad! And there will always be more to learn and discover. So I continue on this journey as a life-long student!

I’ve grown to love Edward Hopper’s artwork and style over the years. His work leaves a strong impression as well as maintaining a minimalistic appearance, which I absolutely love! I am no Edward Hopper but I do like to implement some of that style into my work. My style, I would say, leans into impressionism. I hope to impress a feeling, or mood; maybe jog a hazy memory. I love old photographs, history and my hometown, so those things have a way of presenting themselves in my artwork quite frequently.

I hope I can cause one to wander in thought or memory... I hope it can be a light. I’m thankful for the ability to use my hands to create and eyes to take in all the beautiful things God has created!

Every artist is influenced by another and ultimately we are all influenced by the Master Artist.”
